Celie Downey-Foye, Principal (Click Here for Biography)

The beginning of the year has been a huge success due to the commitment of our outstanding staff, students and parents! We have had a few bumps in the road getting into our routines in our new building, but we are so excited to finally be here and we thank you for your patience.  We also want to thank everyone that came out to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 29, 2018. The Saguaros/CGMS campus would not be a reality if not for the support of the community and we are truly thankful for this beautiful campus and wonderful collaborative opportunity before us.
We look forward to a year filled with active learning, engagement, and participation from all through our PBL implementation this school year.   We are still implementing built in time within each classroom schedule so that all classes participate in a Morning Meeting each day to set the tone, greet each other, and begin learning on a fun note. We encourage parents to stop in during this time and see the activities that take place.
Saguaro is excited to continue as a 7 Mindsets school which further supports our students social and emotional growth. The Mindsets are: Everything is Possible, Passion First, We Are Connected, 100% Accountable, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give and The Time is Now. We will be focusing on a new mindset each month.
Transportation Reminder: Please call before 1:30 pm to make any changes to your child's transportation schedule. While the parking lot and bus loop are being finished, we are using temporary parent pick-up and bus areas.  It is important for your child's safety, as well as planning, that we know as far in advance as possible if a change is necessary. Students should be picked up on the auditorium basketball court, not in front of the office. Also, if picking up your child, please have the sign with your children’s names boldly written on the sign and place it in the right corner of the dashboard. We thank you for your patience in this matter and during this time.
Save the Date!  On the evening of September 20 from 5:30-7:30, we will have BINGO for our Saguaro families.  As you know we do rely on donations to fill our BINGO Baskets for the winners.  Check with your child’s teacher if you would like to help out or you can drop donations of water, soda, or gift cards off at the front office.
If you would like to be a volunteer, please visit the office to pick up a volunteer form.  As always, be sure to follow us on Facebook @SaguaroCGESD for current updates.
